Maintenance of Certification

Unlike the intermittent recertification process that many physicians are accustomed to, the concept of maintenance of certification requires a physician to demonstrate maintenance of expertise in his or her specialty through a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement and quality patient care throughout his or her career. Grounded in six core competencies and a four-part process for continuous learning, maintenance of certification truly holds physicians accountable, on a continual basis, for not only maintaining certification but remaining current. CME Enterprise incorporates elements of maintenance of certification into appropriate educational initiatives and interventions, to reinforce the learning opportunity and impact physician’s patient care.
